Now

I work at Fidelity on full-stack engineering, mostly batch platforms and billing systems. That work is where I learned to care about the things this site keeps returning to: what happens when a job fails at 3am, how you make a pipeline explain itself, and how much of a system's behaviour you can recover from its logs six months later.

Outside of that I build local-first tools, usually in Rust. tidyup organises files on-device instead of shipping them to a model.Outdegree turns browser history into a graph without asking for host permissions. Both started as things I wanted and could not find a version of that I trusted.

Background

I studied computer engineering at UMass Amherst. My senior design project was ModuLoop, a hardware music sequencer built by four of us; I led the software architecture, which meant learning the hard way how embedded timing, storage latency and audio scheduling interact. Hardware is still the fastest way I know to be corrected by reality.
